Patriotic references to God on Broken Arrow city buildings are on their way back. The controversy had protestors out Thursday, saying the city should be more flexible during a time of crisis to allow both patriotic and religious references in light of the terrorist attacks.
Broken Arrow's city manager said the problem all along was not the message itself, but the lack of proper approval from the city to put it there. Friday, he released this statement hoping to settle the issue. It read, "I have directed that patriotic banners, including American flags and the words 'God Bless America' be purchased and installed in front of all City buildings."
