CBS releases cast for the third `Survivor' series

NEW YORK (AP) _ A goat farmer, a dentist and a professional soccer player are among the cast members for the third ``Survivor'' series on CBS, set to debut Oct. 11.

CBS executives are eager to see whether the public's appetite for the reality game will change because of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. The second edition earlier this year was the most popular series of the TV season.

The 16 players were stranded in the Shaba National Reserve in Kenya, Africa. The cast members:

_Carl Bilancione, 46, a dentist from Winter Springs, Fla.

_Clarence Black, 24, a high school basketball coach from Detroit.

_Tom Buchanan, 46, a goat farmer from Rich Valey, Va.

_Jessie Camacho, 27, a deputy sheriff from Orlando, Fla.

_Teresa Cooper, 42, a flight attendant from Jackson, Ga.

_Silas Gaither, 23, a bartender from Germantown, Tenn., currently living in Los Angeles.

_Frank Garrison, 43, a telephone technician from Odessa, N.Y.

_Kelly Goldsmith, 22, a recent Duke University graduate from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., working as a behavioral research analyst.

_Kim Johnson, 57, a retired school teacher from Oyster Bay, N.Y.

_Diane Ogden, 42, a mail carrier from Lincoln, Neb.

_Kim Powers, 29, a free-lance marketer from Conshohocken, Pa.

_Brandon Quinton, 25, a bartender from Dallas.

_Lindsey Richter, 27, an advertising account executive from Portland, Ore.

_Linda Spencer, 44, a career counselor from Cambridge, Mass.

_Lex van den Berghe, 38, a marketing manager from Santa Cruz, Calif.

_Ethan Zohn, 27, a former professional soccer player and now a coach from Lexington, Mass., currently living in New York City.
