Midwest City, Okla., -- Air Force Reservists from the 507th Air Refueling Wing at Tinker Air Force base are deploying in support of national defense requirements.

According to Reserve officials the deployment is being conducted on a volunteer basis in response to requests received from the Department of Defense and the Air Force. The unit deployment is not part of the Presidential elected Reserve Call-Up.

Unit aircraft and support personnel will deploy to the Pacific Air Force Theater of Operation, The 507th Air Refueling Wing fly and maintains the KC-135 Stratotankor aircraft and supports aerial refueling requirements. The length of time for this is deployment has not been determined.

According to the Air Force Reserve Command Commander, Lieutenant General James E. Sherrard III, "We have a very talented and combat ready force and our contributions are critical to our Air Force being able to meet the requirements being asked of us. "
