The beginning of a new school year offers a fresh start with new possibilities. But unfortunately, the start of school is also a time for increased traffic problems, particularly speeding.
Police officers in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and surrounding communities warn motorists to slow down in school zones. Many police departments say they will have extra patrol units in place to enforce the law.
Fines for speeding in school zones range from $140 to more than $240 depending on the violation.
