(Norman-AP) -- Former Oklahoma point guard Terry Evans is returning to the program.

Evans has been named as the director of basketball operations for coach Kelvin Sampson.

Evans coached at Midwest City the past four years, leading the Bombers to three state championships and a 100-and-11 record. He will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties of the basketball office.

He'll also help with special projects and on-campus recruiting. The three-time Academic All-Big Eight selection ranks as OU's all-time leader in three-pointers and in assists.
