Indianapolis (AP) -- Conseco Incorporated is phasing out about
half its major medical health insurance policies, including those
in Oklahoma.
Conseco is ending coverage for up to 80-thousand clients in a
total of 16 states. The policies were offered through Pioneer Life
Insurance, Washington National Life Insurance and Connecticut
National Life Insurance.
The company says the policies haven't been profitable.
The first letters telling clients the policies won't be renewed
were mailed July 27th.
Customers have six to 12 months notices before policies begin
expiring on February First. All affected policies will expire by
next August.
