A Tulsa High School will begin a new chapter next week when it opens as the School for Science and Technology. Crews are busy installing new laboratories at the former McLain High School.
An incoming Freshman class of about 330 will be the first to experience the new curriculum at the school.
The change was controversial when announced last year, but school officials say most upperclassmen are accepting the change.
Cynthia Macarevich, TSST Principal: "They seem to be very happy about the new uniforms, with all the new things that are happening in the building. They love the new gym floor, and it's going better than I think anyone ever expected it to go."
There are new school colors - silver and black. And students chose a new mascot - the Titan.
Tulsa Public Schools begin classes a week from tomorrow.
