The somber task of burying the victims of a fatal car accident is underway in Tahlequah. Two more victims will be laid to rest today.

Students gathered at the gymnasium of Sequoyah High School yesterday for the funeral of 16-year-old Smokey Mankiller.

He and three other teenagers were killed in a car wreck on Highway 62 between Tahlequah and Muskogee. An overflow crowd filled the gymnasium for the funeral. His friends from the basketball team carried the casket.

Josh James, Friend of Victim: It's just a tragedy what happened to him you know you just think, nothing like this can happen around here and especially to a close friend especially someone my age you know or someone in high school this could happen to you know. It just kind of got the whole town by shock.

One teen did survive the accident Friday night. 16-year-old Marla Rae Christie is listed in fair condition this morning at St Francis Hospital.
