(Norman-AP) -- Sooner freshmen and other newcomers to the Oklahoma football team are practicing in triple-digit heat.
Two-a-day practices began this week.
Coach Bob Stoops says the new group includes a lot of good players with good attitudes. He says he's impressed with the physical conditioning and athleticism of the players.
Coaches are now working closely with the newcomers, deciding where they fit into upcoming season plans.
Tuesday's afternoon practice included a visit from former Sooner All-American Keith Jackson and former OU coach Barry Switzer.
Varsity squad members will join the practices Thursday.
Oklahoma's annual media day is scheduled for Friday.
