OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Gov. Frank Keating will join former Sen. Sam Nunn and others Monday in testifying before a congressional committee about how the nation should respond to bioterrorism.
Keating played the role of a governor recently in a two-day ``Dark Winter'' exercise in Washington concerning a hypothetical germ warfare assault on several states.
Under the scenario proposed by the exercise, fictional terrorists linked to Iraq released the smallpox virus in Oklahoma and other states, a spokesman for Keating said.
Nunn, a former senator from Georgia, played the role of the president.
Keating and Nunn will appear before the House Subcommittee on National Security, Veterans Affairs and International Relations at 2 p.m. Monday.
``I look forward to sharing my impressions with the subcommittee,'' Keating said. ``One of those impressions was that, learning what we did from the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, local and state and federal agencies can work together in responding to terrorism.''
