OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The new district attorney of Oklahoma County wants to meet victims of the federal building bombing to discuss the future of the state case against co-conspirator Terry Nichols.

Wes Lane has scheduled sessions at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on July 30 to speak with victims and survivors of the April 19, 1995 blast, which killed 168.

Lane is considering dropping the case. An invitation to victims said Lane ``would like to meet with you personally before making a decision on how best to proceed.''

Nichols, 46, was convicted in a federal trial of conspiracy to bomb the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. He also was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of eight federal agents and was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of release.

His state case involves the 160 others who died as a result of the attack. The death penalty is being sought.

A federal jury convicted his co-conspirator, Timothy McVeigh, of murder and weapons charges and sentenced him to death. McVeigh was executed June 11 at the federal penitentiary in Terre Haute, Ind.
