Firefighters in Southwestern Oklahoma spent much of Tuesday battling a stubborn wildfire. The wildfire started Monday morning in the Quartz Mountains, near the town of Mangum.
The flames came close to the Quartz Mountain Resort, but the recently rebuilt lodge was not in immediate danger. It just so happens the lodge reopened in March of this year after being destroyed by fire.
The Mangum fire department says a bolt of lightning started the fire.
