(Chesterton, Indiana-AP) -- Two Oklahomans are among those competing for a title at the 35th Northern Amateur at Sand Creek in Chesterton, Indiana.

J.C. DeLeon of Tulsa shot a 71, while Shawn Matthews of Altus shot a 79 yesterday.

Recent Indiana University grad Steven Wheatcroft leads a pack of strong contenders with a 67 that included five birdies on Sand Creek's Lake and Marsh courses.
