LYTHAM ST. ANNES, England (AP) _ Two-time U.S Open champion Lee Janzen and fellow American Kirk Triplett have withdrawn from the British Open Championship at Royal Lytham next week.
Janzen, who has played in every British Open since 1991, has a virus. No reason was given for Triplett's withdrawal.
Triplett has only played two Opens, missing the cut at Turnberry in 1994 and finishing 60th at St Andrews last year.
Janzen _ who won the U.S Open in 1993 and 1998 _ was disqualified from the event last month for sweeping some dew away with a towel.
American Notah Begay has also withdrawn through injury.
