SPARKS, Okla. (AP) _ State narcotics agents shot and killed a man Tuesday morning while raiding his home where they suspected methamphetamine was being manufactured.

The agents were serving the warrant at the home of Kirk Massie in Sparks, 12 miles south of Chandler, said Mark Woodward, spokesman for the state Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control.

Agents who broke down a door found Massie holding a shotgun, Woodward said.

Massie barricaded himself in a bathroom and was shot after starting to raise the gun when he was told by an agent to drop it, Woodward said. No agents were injured.

Woodward said Massie probably saw the agents coming because he had cameras throughout his property and three monitors in the front yard.

A man and woman who were at the residence were taken into custody and were being questioned at the Lincoln County Sheriff's office.

Woodward said agents also found a 20-foot-by-20-foot concrete bunker at a home in Chandler where they believe Massie was operating a meth lab.

After using a backhoe to rip off the door, agents found more monitors, an active meth lab and a telephone.

The narcotics bureau is conducting an internal investigation into the shooting.
