ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Texas second baseman Randy Velarde, on the disabled list since May 25 with a pulled left hamstring, will report to Double-A Tulsa this week for a rehabilitation assignment.
Velarde will join Tulsa on Wednesday and could rejoin the Rangers after next week's All-Star break. He has been undergoing rehab and participating in full workouts.
In 44 games before getting hurt, Velarde hit .331 with five home runs and 14 RBIs.
