Months after Zebco closed its factory here in Tulsa, the company's being sold. Illinois-based Brunswick Corporation says it's selling the Zebco fishing reel division, headquartered in Tulsa to W-C Bradley Company of Columbus, Georgia.
Zebco closed its factory in Tulsa earlier this year and moved production to Asia, saying it could no longer compete with cheaper and flashier reels produced overseas. Jeff Pontius with Zebco: "While we're no longer manufacturing here, Tulsa is our home and we're proud to stay here and grow here in the future.
W-C Bradley makes CharBroil and Thermos grills. Zebco's purchase price wasn't disclosed.
