(Omaha, Nebraska-AP) -- The College World Series opened with a wild, record-length four-hour, 18-minute, 394-pitch game Friday afternoon in Omaha. Stanford fell behind 8-to-0 in the first three innings then stormed back to beat Tulane 13-to-11. The Green Wave had the tying run on second with no outs in the ninth but couldn't get the runner home.
