The men were found about 4,600 feet below the surface Tuesday, reported KREM-TV of Spokane, Wash. Their names were not immediately released.
The rescue effort began shortly after noon Tuesday at the Galena Mine, owned by the Coeur d'Alene Mining Corp.
``I ask we all say a prayer for the families of these men,'' said company vice president Mike Lee.
The mine would not operate during the Wednesday morning shift, Lee said. The company employs about 220 workers.
