(McAlester-AP) -- A husband and wife accused of operating a methamphetamine lab in rural Pittsburg County are being held in jail facing felony charges.

Darin and Janet Renee Dawson have both been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after they drove up to their house while police were confiscating chemicals used to make meth.

Both have previous felony convictions, according to court documents.

If convicted of all charges, each could be sentenced to life in prison and fined up to one hundred and one thousand dollars.

Sheriff Jerome Amaranto says the property owner called the sheriff's office after spotting an extension cord running to a chicken coop.
