(Roland-AP) -- State agents say a Sequoyah County man was killed after shooting at a sheriff's deputy.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says Donald Chronisten died in Saturday night's shooting.
OSBI spokeswoman Kym Koch says deputies went to Chronisten's home north of Roland on a report of an attempted suicide. When officers arrived, Chronisten ran from the house and deputy Roger Fuller followed him a short distance in a patrol car.
Koch says Chronisten ran behind a tree and opened fire on Fuller after he stopped his patrol car. Koch says Fuller shot back and killed Chronisten.
Fuller is on routine administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
