A recount of votes in a Muskogee sales tax election has come up with a tie.
The recount shows there are exactly 2,043 votes for the tax, and 2,043 votes against it. It was called after the tax failed by two votes earlier this month.
The money would have raised more than $6-million to renovate the civic center and to build a downtown market square. It failed by just one vote.
