(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma's Department of Human Services says it's cutting nutrition programs that serve meals to the elderly.
It's part of $22.2-million in cuts the agency made to keep up with a state budget shortfall.
DHS Director Howard Hendrick says it's nothing anybody wants to do. Hendrick says next year's funding problems will be worse because the DHS got this year's money from the state's Rainy Day Fund and can't do that again.
A Tulsa group advocating help for the state's elderly has sent paper plates to DHS officials signed by people who get the free meals. The plates read ``Keep our plate full and don't cut funding.''
