(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was named Tuesday as the Region 4 co-coach of the year by the American Football Coaches Association.

Stoops shares the regional award with Boise State coach Dan Hawkins after leading the Sooners to a 10-and-2 record and a tie for the Bit 12 South Division title.

Stoops also won the award in 2000 while coaching Oklahoma to the national title.

The award is voted on by coaches.
