Mothers Against Drunk Driving are asking you to drive safely and soberly when you celebrate this holiday season.

MADD kicked off their annual "Tie One On" for safety red ribbon campaign. Last year 266 Oklahomans died in alcohol related crashes, MADD is hoping all of us will "Tie One On" and help reduce that number this year.

Marilyn Rohloff with MADD: "We are asking people in the community to tie a red ribbon to a visible place in their vehicle as a reminder to everyone who sees it not to drink and drive.”

Officer Craig Murray from the Tulsa Police Department endorsed the program by tying the ceremonial first red ribbon on his patrol car. The campaign runs thru the end of the year.

On Sundays in December volunteers will be passing out red ribbons at Tulsa's Woodland Hills Mall and Zany Brainy.

If you'd like more information on the campaign call the MADD office at 743-6233.
