(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Thieves who broke into patrol cars in Oklahoma City this week could be planning to use the stolen equipment to commit other crimes.
Authorities say thieves broke into Oklahoma City police cars and a sheriff's department cruiser that were parked in officers' driveways.
Items stolen include handcuffs, 40- and 45-caliber ammunition, a sheriff's department badge, stop sticks for flattening tires and a Taser -- a less-than-lethal weapon that delivers an electric current.
Also, an Oklahoma City firefighter's badge was stolen from his home this week.
Police say they want people to be aware the equipment was stolen and could be used to commit other crimes.
