Creek County investigators cracked a pit bull fighting operation Wednesday afternoon. News on Six crime reporter Lori Fullbright explains that sheriff’s deputies say this operation near Kellyville, bred fighting dogs, raised them and held fights every Sunday.

They found more than a dozen full-grown fighting dogs and several other puppies. Some of the dogs are in pretty sad shape, having been chewed up pretty good.

There’s a fighting pit inside a barn, with blood that's splattered on the walls. Chief Deputy Mike O'Keefe, "Gang members from Tulsa and Okmulgee Counties come out here to fight their dogs and buy them too."

Deputies arrested the homeowner and his wife, they also arrested a man who was driving a city of Tulsa Public Works truck, who happened to be there inquiring about dogs and another man who was also at the farm, doing business.

A veterinarian will take care of the most injured ones right now. One was bleeding on the ground from a chewed off ear, another had a hole in its chest and could barely walk.
