Oklahoma State University has a new leader. Monday afternoon, the Board of Regents named David Schmidly as the 17th President of OSU.
Dr Schmidly comes from Texas Tech where he's been President for two years; he will replace retiring President James Halligan. Schmidly has a PhD in Zoology and is considered one of the nation's scientific authorities in national research and conservation.
One of his top priorities is to bring diversity to the university. Schmidly plans to be on campus by February 3rd.
But he says he will be at the Bedlam game on Saturday and looks forward to beating the Sooners!
