Fire destroys a home in Broken Arrow, and damages the house next door. Broken Arrow Police say the cause was a meth lab explosion.

Firefighters were called to a home at about 91st and 145th street around 3:15 Monday morning. They found the home engulfed in flames. The heat was so intense; it damaged the house next door.

Firefighters say it could have been much worse. BA Assistant Fire Chief Rick Morton, â€œThese houses are pretty close together in this neighborhood and that causes an exposure problem anytime something like this happens, it doesn't take a whole lot to have the next house be in trouble also.â€

Firefighters ran an extra line and managed to beat back the flames. Damage is estimated at least $100,000.

No one was home when the fire broke out. Police say neighbors reported smelling a strange odor before the fire broke out.
