Tarig al-Taweel will spend a couple of years in prison for tampering with grades at Tulsa Community College.

Trial testimony indicated he coerced a TCC employee into changing grades for 54 foreign students. The jury decided al-Taweel should get the minimum punishment - even though he's now a two-time felon. He was convicted of distributing drugs in 1994.

Tulsa County prosecutor, David Robertson, "I'm very pleased with outcome of the case, the jury worked hard and spent time in the deliberations and I respect their decision.”

al-Taweel faces other local and federal charges. This is the second conviction in the grade tampering case - and another trial is pending.
