(Oklahoma City-AP) -- National and state health officials are issuing warnings about Mexican cantaloupes and powdered infant formula.
The State Department of Health and the Food and Drug Administration say a number of Mexican-grown cantaloupes have tested positive for salmonella.
Health officials say consumers should try to avoid bruised or damaged produce and take care when handling and eating fruits and vegetables.
And the FDA says Wyeth Nutritional Incorporated has recalled certain lots of powdered infant formula. Officials say some of the formula may be contaminated with E-sakazakil bacteria. The bacteria can cause meningitis.
Consumers can identify the formula with expiration dates of July, August or September 28th of 2005.
