(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A state election official is predicting a turnout of one million voters for today's election.
Oklahoma Election Board secretary Mike Clingman says such a turnout would surpass the number set in 1998.
But Clingman says one million voters would still be only 50% of the state's registered voters.
In 1998, 42% of registered voters cast ballots.
Clingman says issues such as cockfighting could push voter numbers up. That could be true in southeastern Oklahoma where there's sometimes low voter turnout.
Voters will also decide on a governor, US Senator and several congressional races.
