(South Coffeyville-AP) -- Officials in one rural Oklahoma school district say they'll have to lay off and furlough teachers to deal with state budget cuts.
Oklahoma Union Public Schools will cut three teaching positions and will institute 20-day furlough plans. The district in Nowata County hopes the moves will trim 250-thousand dollars in costs.
Superintendent Robert Jobe says the cuts should go into effect at the conclusion of this semester.
The furlough plan also includes Jobe's position.
