Arson is believed to be the cause of a morning house fire in east Tulsa.

Flames broke out in the basement just after seven o'clock Tuesday morning at the home located at 113 East Newton. Smoke alerted neighbors who called the fire department.

The house was vacant, so there were no injuries. Damage is estimated between $5,000 and $6,000.
