WASHINGTON (AP) _ A New Jersey company is recalling about 100,000 printers that can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Brother International Corp., of Bridgewater, has received two reports of printers overheating and catching fire, one of which caused minor property damage, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday. No injuries were reported.
The recall includes laser printers with model numbers HL-1040, HL-1050, HL-1060 and multifunction printers with model number MFC-P2000.
The printers were sold nationwide from June 1997 through December 2000 for between $300 and $700.
Consumers should stop using the printers immediately, the commission said. For the locations of service centers providing a free repair, contact Brother at (866) 236-6835 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. EDT.
