(Oklahoma City-AP) -- An overnight shooting in Ada has left one man dead and the son of the victim's girlfriend in custody for the crime.

Police spokesman Mark Bratcher says Gordon Snodgrass was shot eight times and died in the front yard of his home about 10:30 last night.

Bratcher says the son of Snodgrass' girlfriend was arrested and confessed to the shooting about 3 this morning. The suspect's name wasn't immediately released.

Bratcher says the suspect claims he shot Snodgrass because Snodgrass threatened his mother.
