Broken Arrow is preparing for it's centennial celebration. And Monday, the Broken Arrow school district got a special token to help remember the city's past.
The Broken Arrow Historical Society presented a history book to the district. The new book chronicles the 100-year history of Broken Arrow. The historical society presented enough copies of the book so each school's media center will have two copies available for use by students.
Dr Dennis Shoemaker, Broken Arrow Superintendent, "I can guarantee you these will be put to good use. I've had a change to skim through it. It will be a great resource to our schools and we appreciate it.â€
Former Broken Arrow School Superintendent Doctor Clarence Oliver provided assistance and expertise in writing the book.
