OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A Tulsa woman was killed and two others were injured in a three-car accident that shut down a section of Interstate 44 for more than an hour Sunday morning.
Frankie Fowler, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene after being trapped in her car for nearly an hour, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
OHP said Fowler's Oldsmobile sedan was traveling westbound on I-44 when it crossed the center median, hitting a Nissan Pathfinder travel east, causing it to spin and roll.
The driver side of Fowler's car was then hit by pickup truck also traveling east.
A 4-old-year passenger in Fowler's car sustained head and trunk injuries and was listed in stable condition.
The 23-year-old driver of the pickup truck sustained trunk and leg injuries and was also listed in stable condition.
The driver of the Pathfinder was not injured.
Traffic on eastbound I-44 was rerouted to Yale Avenue as members of the Tulsa Fire Department worked to free Fowler from her car.
This is the second fatal accident, reported by OHP, on Oklahoma highways this weekend.
An Arkansas man was killed Saturday when his car crossed the center line and was hit by a pickup truck on U.S. 59 in Adair County near Watts.
OHP said Keith Crittenden, 19, was traveling without headlights at about 7 p.m., when his car hit traveled into the path of the truck.
