Driving to Dallas for the Oklahoma-Texas football game should be easier this year.

Construction on Interstate 35 last year led to hours-long delays and alternate routes for the trip.

This year, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is asking contractors working on I-35 from Norman to the Texas state line to avoid lane closings. All lanes are expected to be open this week, but the 60 mile per hour speed limit remains in construction zones.

The Texas Transportation Department says most I-35 construction in north Texas will stop during the weekend and all lanes will be open as far south as San Antonio.
