Emergency workers pulled two people from an overturned semi truck yesterday morning Near I-244 & Red Fork Expressway - a stretch of road that sees many accidents.
Officials say the truck went into a curve on the interdispersal loop, then hit an embankment and rolled off the highway.
Bystanders say they see wrecks in this area all the time - especially after it rains.
This time, Buddy Rainey says he and other witnesses had to wait for the professionals to remove the victims because the truck was so mangled.
Buddy Rainey, Eyewitness: "She didn't appear to be hurt but she was trapped, and the firemen worked frantically getting her out of there. Thank goodness for the jaws of life on that one."
Capt. Jason Teague, Tulsa Fire Department "We used two wreckers to help us pick it up, we had lines on the ground, we had hazmat here because we had fuel dripping on hot batteries. We could not get to cut the power."
Firefighters used just about every tool at their disposal to pull the driver from the wreckage. It took about an hour and a half, the driver was the taken to a local hospital.
