It's character first in Owasso. The city kicked off its community-wide character initiative Wednesday.

It's an effort to get the whole city involved in establishing a community culture that encourages, recognizes and rewards good character. Thomas Hill with Character First, "If we can learn good character and have successful families, then we're going to have a successful community, we're going to have a successful nation, and it's going to benefit all of us."

The City Council passed a resolution earlier this year declaring their intent to make Owasso a city of character.
