Hundreds of people showed up Tuesday night for Oklahoma State University's diversity vigil.
The crowd quietly expressed their hurt, anger and remorse over racist photographs taken at an Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity party. Fraternity President Brad Atkinson apologized to the crowd and says fraternity members were acting out of ignorance and not out of hatred.
But others say the fraternity is just a small part of the problem. Bryant Clark, President of the African-American Student Association, "Alpha Gamma Rho is not the only people that do these. They're not. I am sure around this campus there is still people that think that this is funny."
Brad Atkinson, Alpha Gamma Rho president, "We're willing to take the first step in helping everybody learn the diversity of our campus and kinda helping to start the education process that needs to be done."
One of the photos depicted a member dressed in the white hood of the Ku Klux Klan and another member with a painted black face.
The fraternity has self imposed some punishment and could face more penalties.
