A little party was held Wednesday to commemorate the opening of the Creek Turnpike extension.

Governor Frank Keating, "What a wonderful day to celebrate a great day for the turnpike authority, a great day for transportation and the best day for Northeast Oklahoma."

Keating and Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin, along with members of the Oklahoma Transportation Authority gathered at the East Creek Toll Plaza for a special ribbon cutting and ceremony.

The Broken Arrow High School band provided patriotic music for the event. The Creek Turnpike extension officially opened last month.
