Financial troubles are ending the music for the Tulsa Philharmonic. After Wednesday’s September 11th concert, the Philharmonic is canceling its concerts for the next month.
Officials say the organization has lost almost a million-dollars in the past two years.
Now three concerts will be postponed. 9/13 - 9/14 Michael W. Smith – Freedom; 9/22 The Phil Swings; and 10/5 American Modern.
If you have tickets for those shows, you should hold on to them because officials say they will be rescheduled. Tulsa's Philharmonic declared bankruptcy in the early 1990s.
Officials say ticket sales and contributions fall almost half-a-million dollars short of the organization's operating costs.
