Joe Smith rushed for two touchdowns and Luke McCown threw for three scores as Louisiana Tech beat Tulsa 53-to-9.
Tech rushed for two-hundred-90 yards on 41 carries yesterday and held winless Tulsa to 50 yards on 31 carries. McCown hit 10-of-19 passes for one-hundred-62 yards.
The Bulldogs built a 24-to-nothing lead in the first quarter, when Smith had touchdown runs of 33 and 29 yards.
McCown hit Chris Norwood with an eight-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, putting Tech up 31-to-nothing.
Tulsa's Tyler Gooch hit Romby Bryant with a 29-yard touchdown pass in the second to make the score 31-to-6. The Tech defense blocked the extra point.
Tulsa's Brad Devault hit a 34-yard field goal with about four minutes remaining in the game.
