RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ Chris Johnson's 2-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter provided the winning margin for Northeastern Oklahoma in a 9-7 victory Saturday over Arkansas Tech.
The Redmen (2-0) took a 3-0 lead into intermission on a 42-yard field goal by Trae Ratliff as time expired in the first half.
Johnson, Northeastern's leading rusher with 59 yards on 16 carries, got his touchdown with 13:01 left in the game to put the Redmen up 9-0.
The extra six points was needed, as Tadd Farmer connected with David Feliciano to put Tech (0-1) on the board with a 17-yard scoring pass, with 4:49 on the clock.
Marcus Godfrey led Tech's rushing with 65 yards on 15 carries.
