(Webbers Falls-AP) -- City officials in Webbers Falls are asking for donations to raise 30-thousand dollars for a memorial to the victims of the Interstate 40 bridge collapse.
The money would be added to 120-thousand dollars in federal funds set aside by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission for the Muskogee County town.
The memorial is to be build in a park along the Arkansas River, near the spot where the bridge collapsed after being hit by a barge. Fourteen people died after driving off the end of the bridge and into the river.
Mayor Jewell Horne says the city has established an account at the local Armstrong Bank for donations.
