STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State University officials have met with police to discuss three brawls involving athletes during the last two weeks.

The latest incident early Monday left two people injured and involved members of OSU's football, baseball and softball teams. Police said some of the participants were wielding baseball bats.

All three fights involved what Stillwater police Chief Norman McNickle called ``relationships with women.''

McNickle met Tuesday with Athletic Director Harry Birdwell, OSU's campus police chief and several coaches.

``I indicated to them (coaches) the expectations and standards for our student athletes,'' Birdwell said. ``That was the purpose of the meeting, to say these incidents have occurred with far too great a frequency, and we have a responsibility to make sure our student athletes understand what our expectations are.''

McNickle said Monday's disturbance began with a fight between two women and it spread to involve some of the men who had also gathered at the house. Officers said the fight had ended by the time they arrived. Police then called OSU officials to the scene.

Baseball players Jeffrey Mark Tuttle, 20, and John Andrew Forrest, 21 suffered minor cuts. The house had three holes knocked into a wall and a broken storm door, according to a police report.

No one involved in the fight wanted to press charges, so no arrests were made, and none are anticipated, McNickle said.

The series of brawls began Aug. 23 when two OSU basketball players _ Cheyne Gadson, 22, and Tony Allen, 19 _were arrested after a riot at a Stillwater restaurant. Police said the incident involved about 300 people and was related to a rivalry between groups from OSU and Langston University.

Two days later, some of the same people fought again at a Stillwater YMCA, McNickle said.

McNickle said Monday's brawl was not related to the earlier disturbances.
