Some Tulsa Public School students may have to do a little extra work to get to the bus stop.

Thatâ€™s because Tulsa Public Schools has made some major changes to its bus system. The district has cut 50 buses and changed its routes to save half a million dollars. That means students will use a central bus stop. Many will have to walk a mile and a half to get to that stop, that's the same distance students who live in "walk zones" have to walk to get to school.

School officials will monitor the new system to make sure it works and is safe for students.
