(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is excited about facing Alabama this Saturday in Norman.

Stoops says it's hard to believe two teams with such rich tradition have only played each other twice.

The last meeting came in the Astro-Blubonnet Bowl in 1970.

Alabama opened its season Saturday with a tougher-than-expected 39-to-34 victory over Middle Tennessee.

Stoops says his defense will have to be physical and disciplined against Alabama's option offense on Saturday.
